Kara Superfine’s career started over 13 years ago, when she was green and eager and fresh out of college. With a degree in Horticulture, years of working in cutie flower shops, and a love of style and design, she started her young career as a wedding & event designer for a small, multifaceted planning & design company. Here, she focused on the floral and visual design of her clients’ weddings. As soon as she was producing her first few weddings, she was asked to step in on the planning and logistical end of everything, as well. It was just a short while later that she started taking her own full service wedding planning clients – loving having a hand in All Things Wedding; flowers and beyond.
For several years, Kara worked for a highly respected event design firm, keeping the focus more narrowly directed toward the floral and décor side of things. Eventually, Kara found that she missed the planning side of parties and decided to shift back to wedding and event planning – always more than partial to the design process.
After working for some of the most elite planning and design companies Chicago has to offer, Kara decided to start her namesake business in 2014 – a decision that many felt was long overdue.
Kara has planned and designed hundreds of successful and incredible weddings and events over the years. Each so truly unique and tailored to the couple or client that she feels as though there has never been the opportunity to get bored. No client is alike; therefore no wedding or party should be alike. Cookie-cutter is simply not a part of Kara’s vocabulary.
Part of Kara’s success has been the unwavering relationships she’s created and the vast amount of respect she has for the highest quality vendors she works with. Vendors that have the same drive and passion that she does; which ultimately results in nothing less than a flawless and fantastic event.

Kara Superfine Events works closely with each of their clients to understand their vision and priorities, and to help them develop their own wedding or event style.
Whether clients have had their wedding or event mapped out to the last custom coaster for years, or if the idea of putting colors and textures together terrifies them, Kara’s discerning eye and fun process ensures all of her clients end up feeling as though their wedding or party is the perfect representation of themselves, through and through.
In the early stages of the planning process, Kara Superfine Events will help develop and manage the event budget, establish the overall events’ style (a specialty!) and create custom checklists and timelines to help things get underway. From there, Kara will act as her client’s planning partner – doing the legwork, the research, and the homework to provide the very best event guidance and vendor recommendations along the way. Kara Superfine Events works intimately with both her clients as well as the contracted vendors to put together a seamless and detailed production schedule of the wedding or event. With everyone working closely from the same blueprint, KSE likes to take as much of the unexpected – as humanly possible (grin) - out of the equation. When unavoidable surprises arise, Kara is known for her timely solutions, her grace under pressure and her calming support.
It is paramount that the client enjoys the planning process and has loads of fun with it. But it is especially essential that the client is also able to relish and savor every moment of their wedding or event, knowing that Kara Superfine Events is behind the scenes orchestrating the most special and spectacular party of their lives.
